1) From ABC News, I’m Daria Albinger. President Biden is explaining how his Administration will take aim at gun violence with homicide hits on the rise. His comprehensive strategy targets law-breaking gun dealers, “If you willfully fail to run a background check, if you willfully falsify a record, if you willfully fail to cooperate with the tracing requests to inspections, my message to you is this. We will find you and we’ll seek your license to sell guns. It also provides federal resources to police departments and allows communities to repurpose federal COVID-19 relief funding, programs which prevent gun violence.

2) Vice President Kamala Harris will travel to El Paso, Texas Friday along with Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas. White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki says they will be waiting for the appropriate time, “We're at this point, in part, because we've made a great deal of progress, and if you look just to a couple of months ago when 6,000 children were in border patrol facilities, we're now at the point where there's far less than 1,000.” Former President Trump will also visit the southern border next week.

3) A new warning is coming from the FDA about the risk of a heart condition which may be associated with COVID-19 vaccine. “The warning for pertaining healthcare providers, vaccine recipients and caregivers according to the FDA and will likely include statement __ __ but sometimes serious cases of myocarditis in some recipients of Pfizer or Moderna COVID-19 vaccine. This comes after an emergency hearing by the CDC Vaccine Advisory Panel to discuss higher than expected cases of myocarditis in young adults recently vaccinated. The panel’s Chair said Wednesday there’s an update that suggests a likely association between the cases and mRNA vaccine. Mark Remillard, ABC News.

4) Antivirus software pioneer John McAfee has been found dead in a Spanish prison.

Stocks finished mixed with the Nasdaq notching another record close as investors continue with assets rising inflation and its impact on the economic recovery. The Dow falling 71 points, the Nasdaq up 18, for another record close, S&P 500 down 5. // Antivirus software entrepreneur John McAfee has died by an apparent suicide in a Spanish jail cell. Hours after the report surfaced that he will be extradited to the U.S. to face criminal tax evasion charges according to local media. The eccentric tech tycoon who developed McAfee antivirus software was arrested in Spain in October for allegedly failing to pay taxes on years of income. McAfee was 75. // And Southwest Airline’s longtime Chief Executive Officer Gary Kelly is stepping down next year. He will pass the CEO baton to Senior Executive Bob Jordan next February.

1) From ABC News, I’m Chuck Sivertsen. President Biden is on his way back to Washington after a three-hour summit with Russian President Vladimir Putin. ABC’s Karen Traverse in Geneva. “Cyber security was a big topic in the wake of recent ransomware attacks, the Administration says, originated in Russia. Putin today taking no responsibility but President Biden saying he drew a firm line. Asked later what he would do if Putin ignore that, the President issuing the threat, ‘I pointed out to him we have significant cyber capability, and he knows it.’ Karen Traverse, ABC News, traveling with the President in Geneva.” Through a translator, President Putin held his own news conference after the summit. “Although there was a candid and open conversation, and there were no personal or diplomatic deviations from the topic set out to address.” Putin says they agreed to return the American ambassador to Moscow and the Russian ambassador to Washington. They were pulled during recent tense relations.

2) The Justice Department moving a drop its Trump-era civil lawsuit against former National Security Advisor John Bolton that sought to seize all his proceeds from Bolton’s recent memoir, also, dropped separate criminal investigation in whether Bolton illegally mishandled classified information by publishing the book.

3) The latest on the cost of living and the cost of burrowing. “Federal Reserve policymakers increased their forecast for inflation this year as prices rise in many parts of the economy. But Fed Chairman Jerome Powell says higher prices will likely only be temporary. ‘If you look behind the headline numbers, you’ll see that the incoming data are consistent with the view that the prices that are driving higher inflation come from the categories that are being directly affected by the recovery from the pandemic and the reopening of the economy.’ The Fed signals interest rates could rise by the end of 2023. That’s earlier than its previous forecast. Elizabeth Schulze, ABC News, Washington.”

Stocks fell and bond yields rose after Federal Reserve officials signaled. They may start easing their massive measures to jump start the economy earlier than expected as the economy recovers from the pandemic as an inflation heats up. The Dow falling 266 points, the Nasdaq down 33, S&P 500 down 23. // And General Motors shares rose 1.5% after the automaker said it would increase spending on electric autonomous vehicles to $35 billion through 2025. This spending will reportedly include two additional U.S. battery plants. // And Amazon Fresh is opening a grocery store in Bellevue, Washington on Thursday. That will offer customers a chance to grab and go without standing on line at a checkout lane. The company says walkout technology will allow shoppers to place things on their carts and leave the store without a stop at a cash register.

1) From ABC News, I’m Daria Albinger. First stop on President Biden’s European trip to the U.K. First item of business, a talk to the U.S. troops. President Biden told the U.S. service members he is meeting face to face with Russian President Vladimir Putin next Wednesday in Geneva. “Let him know what I want him to know.” The President said the U.S. wants quote “stable, predictable relationship with Russia.” But he issued the warning. “The United States will respond in a robust and meaningful way if the Russian government engages in harmful activities.” Karen Travers, ABC News traveling with the President in Cornwall, England. Karen is the only network radio correspondent traveling with the President.

2) Sources tell ABC News the White House will buy another half billion doses of Pfizer’s COVID-19 vaccine for distribution to lower income countries. National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan, “The G7 will make a combined announcement on this issue, and it won’t simply be about vaccines though vaccines will be a part of it, but it will be a comprehensive plan to help end this pandemic as rapidly as possible.” Two hundred million doses will be delivered this year to the global vaccine program COVAX, another 300 million in early 2022.

3) A watchdog report says park police did not clear Lafayette Park and nearby protestors last June, so former President Trump could walk to the St. John’s Church. Inspector General of Interior Mark Greenblatt. “We did not find evidence that a potential presidential visit to the park or the St. John’s Church influenced the park police’s decision making, or their deployment, you know, in their operation to clear out the park.” The former president says the report exonerates him of any accusations he’d ordered aggressive tactics to remove protestors.

4) TC energy has terminated the Keystone XL pipeline project. President Biden told the problem earlier this year over environmental concerns. You’re listening to ABC News.

The Dow falling 153 points, the Nasdaq down 13, S&P 500 down 8. // And meme stocks mania continued with retail investors focusing their attention on Clean Energy Fuels this time, pushing the stocks up more than 31%. // And the king of meme stock GameStop is attempting to turn around its business by shifting from a brick-and-mortar focus to becoming an online player, and announced that it has appointed former Amazon executive Matt Furlong as its new CEO. // And Campbell Soup stocks tumbled over 6% after the package food maker’s latest earnings report disappointed investors. The company cut its full year forecast and said it expects higher cost to hurt margin even with price hikes planned for later this year.

1) From ABC News, I’m Chuck Sivertsen. July 4th is his goal for a national month of action, so Americans soon cerebrate what the nation’s Chief Executive calls a summer of freedom. President Biden continuing his nonstop push to get 70% of the U.S. vaccinated in the next month. “Twelve states have    already reached this important milestone. We expect more to make this milestone this week.” But six states, most in the South and the West, have fewer than half of all those vaccinated. Andy Field, ABC News, Washington.

2) The nation’s largest mass transit agency revealed that its New York’s Metropolitan Transportation  Authority was breached in April. At the same time, hackers linked to China hit five federal agencies. The latest on the world’s largest meat processing company after weekend’s cyberattack. “JBS plants   beginning to announce their coming back on line. JBS plants in Green Bay, Wisconsin said it had a four-hour delay in production, similar situation in Greeley, Colorado, Grand Island, Nebraska, are posting they are back to normal. Cactus, Texas says it had a brief delay. Marshalltown, Iowa is reporting pork production will resume on Thursday. Alex Stone, ABC News.

3) More details about a shootout in Enterprise, Florida last night between sheriff’s deputies and a 12-year-old boy and a 14-year-old girl, who the sheriff’s department says ran away from a group home and broke into a house. Sheriffs Mike Chitwood says the kids armed themselves with the home owner’s guns. The girl was wounded. “I believe in my heart she is still alive today because of the first treatment she received from the deputies. Obviously, she   received a great help in a hospital care but those deputies reacted as quickly as they could, hopefully it saved her life.” Both children are charged with   attempted first-degree murder and armed burglary.

4) His opponents announced that they have reached a deal to form a new governing coalition paving the way for the ouster of a long time Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. You’re listening to ABC News.

Stocks finished slightly higher as investors appeared to weigh a May report of the labor market due at the end of the week. The Dow rising 25 points, the Nasdaq up 20, S&P 500 up 6. // And so-called Meme stocks were in the spotlight with AMC Entertainment leading the charge. The stocks were halted several times and surged over 100%. Additionally, AMC said there was a reward on loyalty of individual investor by giving them special perks at its theaters. // And another Meme stock Bed Bath & Beyond popped over 60%. The company said that it’s ahead of the schedule and launching its private labor plans. // And pot stocks rose after ecommerce giant Amazon effectively endorsed the sector by saying it will support the federal legalization of marijuana and will no longer screen prospective workers for any positions not regulated by the Department of Transportation.

1) [Investigators] in San Jose, California are looking into this morning’s deadly shooting at a mass transit facility. Eight people were killed. The suspect opened fire at the Santa Clara Valley Transportation Authority light railyard is dead. Santa Clara Sheriff Department Spokesman Russell Davis says the suspect was a VTA employee. “We actually had an explosives dog on scene, which detected some type of explosive material at the crime scene itself. At that point, we activated the sheriff’s office bomb squad, who is currently on scene and render any kind of suspicious packaging safe at that point.” ABC’s Kaylee Hartung says a house fire is also linked to the suspect. “We come to learn that that house, that was on fire. It was a house of Samuel Cassidy. That’s the same man who authorities believe took his own life after killing eight employees of the Valley Transportation Authority here this morning. So, authorities believe that man set his own house on fire before he drove less than ten miles to get here and carried on this deadly rampage.” President Biden is ordering flags to half-staff the fifth time he has done since taking office.

 2) The President wants another three-month investigation into the origins of COVID-19. “The Biden Administration defending against Republican claims that the President has made a U-turn on if COVID came from a Chinese lab.” We have been saying that for a very long time, that China needed to provide more access to the lab, cooperate more fully. “Spokesperson Karine Jean-Pierre saying it may be impossible to know the exact COVID origin if China doesn’t let inspectors look into directors and the lab. Andy Field, ABC News, Washington.”

3) Police in Aurora, Colorado say a road rage incident left a driver in critical condition. The suspect is in custody. 

4) Going away from Memorial Day? The Triple A (AAA) is predicting more than 37 million will travel over the long holiday weekend. That’s up 60% from last year. The busiest day for drivers will be tomorrow, Friday for air travelers. You’re listening to ABC News.

Stocks finished higher as investors continue to monitor the economic recovery and rising inflation. And it was a historical day for the Dow Jones Industrial Average marking the 125th anniversary of the index which made a state view on May the 26th, 1896. The Dow rising 11 points, the Nasdaq up 81, S&P 500 up 8. And shares of Dick’s Sporting Goods topped over 16% after reporting a surge in first quarter sales in solid earnings as team sports returned. Investor piled into shares of Zscalar after the provider cloud-based security software posted better than expected quarterly results. Its shares rose 12%. And housing market is in need for home for sale and Toll Brothers are reaping the benefits. Its stocks jumped 4% after the home builder reported record contracts in the second quarter that exceeded analysts’ estimates.
