1) From ABC News, I’m Daria Albinger. President Biden is explaining how his Administration will take aim at gun violence with homicide hits on the rise. His comprehensive strategy targets law-breaking gun dealers, “If you willfully fail to run a background check, if you willfully falsify a record, if you willfully fail to cooperate with the tracing requests to inspections, my message to you is this. We will find you and we’ll seek your license to sell guns. It also provides federal resources to police departments and allows communities to repurpose federal COVID-19 relief funding, programs which prevent gun violence.
2) Vice President Kamala Harris will travel to El Paso, Texas Friday along with Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas. White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki says they will be waiting for the appropriate time, “We're at this point, in part, because we've made a great deal of progress, and if you look just to a couple of months ago when 6,000 children were in border patrol facilities, we're now at the point where there's far less than 1,000.” Former President Trump will also visit the southern border next week.
3) A new warning is coming from the FDA about the risk of a heart condition which may be associated with COVID-19 vaccine. “The warning for pertaining healthcare providers, vaccine recipients and caregivers according to the FDA and will likely include statement __ __ but sometimes serious cases of myocarditis in some recipients of Pfizer or Moderna COVID-19 vaccine. This comes after an emergency hearing by the CDC Vaccine Advisory Panel to discuss higher than expected cases of myocarditis in young adults recently vaccinated. The panel’s Chair said Wednesday there’s an update that suggests a likely association between the cases and mRNA vaccine. Mark Remillard, ABC News.
4) Antivirus software pioneer John McAfee has been found dead in a Spanish prison.

Stocks finished mixed with the Nasdaq
notching another record close as investors continue with assets rising
inflation and its impact on the economic recovery. The Dow falling 71 points,
the Nasdaq up 18, for another record close, S&P 500 down 5. // Antivirus
software entrepreneur John McAfee has died by an apparent suicide in a Spanish
jail cell. Hours after the report surfaced that he will be extradited to the U.S.
to face criminal tax evasion charges according to local media. The eccentric
tech tycoon who developed McAfee antivirus software was arrested in Spain in
October for allegedly failing to pay taxes on years of income. McAfee was 75.
// And Southwest Airline’s longtime Chief Executive Officer Gary Kelly
is stepping down next year. He will pass the CEO baton to Senior Executive Bob
Jordan next February.
